The department of medical and surgical Nursing was established in the year of 2005 with Under Graduate programme. The teaching programme for B.Sc (N) help the student to understand the principles and concepts of Medical Surgical Nursing to acquire knowledge and professional skills in caring for patients with Medical and Surgical disorders in variety of health care settings at home and hospital.
The postgraduate programme was established in the year 2010. It is designed to assess the students in developing expertise and in depth knowledge in the field of Medical and Surgical nursing. It will help the student to appreciate the patients as a holistic individual and develop skill to function as a medical and surgical nurse. It will further enable the students to function as a nurse educator, manager and clinical researcher in the field of Medical and surgical Nursing.
PHILOSOPHYMedical and surgical nursing department believes that nursing contributes to the health service in vital and significant way in the health care delivery system. It aims at identifying the health needs of the people, planning and providing quality care in collaboration with other health professionals and community group. It also aims at provision of promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative aspects of care to people across their life span in wide variety of health care settings based upon application of basic concept and principles derived from the physical biological, behavioral sciences, medical and surgical nursing.
OBJECTIVESThe Department of Community Health Nursing was established in the year 2005 with under graduate programme. The teaching programme of B.
