Faculty Improvement Programmes

Faculty Improvement is a planned programme to improve an individual’s knowledge and skill in teaching educational research and educational administration and to prepare institution and faculty members for their various roles. In nursing education, Faculty Development deals with the sensitization and training of teachers in carrying out their professional tasks, which leads to improvement in the quality of teaching and learning that contributes to the competence of health professionals.

Faculty Development has assumed a lot of significance, because of its role in capacity building, the theme of faculty development is how well to sensitize, equip and empower teachers for discharging their professional responsibilities.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
  • Need based courses to keep pace with the current changes. In the industries requirement, new courses will be introduced from time to time and staff will be provided for adequate training for the same.
  • Attending conferences, paper presentation, workshops and seminars etc.
  • Study leave, book grants etc. will be given to the staff for enhancing their qualification and update their knowledge from time to time. Continuing Nursing Education Programme is in session every Wednesday except examination period and vacation. One hour is usually spent on Friday for journal presentation or seminars on needed topics or discussion on unclear matters.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT POLICY For attending workshops and seminars for the faculties of College of Nursing, provisions are made available by the Management as per the following rules and regulations:-
  1. Staff those who render a minimum of 2 years of continuous service alone are eligible to consider for this benefit.
  2. If the person leaves the institution before completing 2 years of service, the money has to be refunded.
  3. Staffs will be given duty leave for attending the programmes.
  4. Maximum number of staffs for attending one programme is restricted to 2.
  5. Preference will be given to speciality, seniority, long service and cadre.
  6. Arrange class for the rest of the faculty within one week after attending the session.
  7. Money needed for registration fee & TA/DA will be provided from the college fund.
  8. Maximum amount of money from the college fund for a single staff is restricted up to Rs. 2000/-
  9. Certificate has to be produced by the staffs those who attend the session as a proof for avoiding mismanagement of this provision.
  10. A register has to be maintained for the same by the staff secretary.
  11. Staff Development Secretary will be responsible for maintaining the register & accounts.
