The faculty of the College of Nursing believes in providing nursing education based and built on scientific principles and sound educational theory and practice in order to prepare professionally qualified nurses, who will be able to function as a team member, in all health care agencies in the role of a practicing nurse. The graduate with experience can rapidly move into leadership positions in Nursing Education, Nursing Service and Administration.

We accept the fact of having a responsibility to the student and to the society to make provision in the programme for the ongoing development of the student as an individual, citizen as well as a nurse.

We promote all round development of the students with special emphasis on human, moral, psychological, cultural, intellectual and spiritual aspects which is required to prepare a professional nurse who will be a contributing citizen and an effective ‘change agent’ in an ever changing society.

We believe that the basic degree program in nursing equip educated young people with basic knowledge, skill, attitude & with good aptitude to render professional nursing care to people of all ages in a variety of settings . A graduate of this programme will be competent to hold leadership positions, recognize civic responsibilities striving towards upliftment of the profession, co-operate with other disciplines to improve health care system and ultimately the welfare of nation.

Undergraduate nursing education program at the post basic level prepares its graduates to become exemplary citizen by adhering to code of ethics and professional conduct at all times in fulfilling personal, social and professional obligations so as to respond to national aspirations.

Being aware of the pressing need of the profession, we are committed to provide post graduate education to those nurses who have the potential and motivation to become nurse educators, administrators, clinical specialists and research workers who will be able to contribute towards professional excellence by meeting the issues and challenges confronting the nursing profession.

Postgraduate programme prepare nurses to assume leadership positions in Nursing and allied health fields as specialists, practitioners, consultants, educators, counselors, administrators and researchers in a variety of setting in meeting the health care priorities and the changing needs of the society.
